Your first hour
What happens at your first visit
About an hour with your therapist, start to finish, on video or in our room. Nothing is decided without you.
Step 1: Before you arrive
A few days before, we send your written estimate, the address or your private video link, and a way to ask us questions.
Step 2: We start by listening
What you do, what is on your mind, what you have tried and what you would like to get back to.
Step 3: We look at how you move
How you stand, sit, breathe and move. We explain what we see as we go.
Step 4: You try the first steps
A few exercises and positions you can use at home. We explain each one first, and you can say no to any of it.
Step 5: We agree on a plan
What to practice, what decides how many visits you need and when we will check in.
Always yours
Your choices, at every step
You can say no
To any question, any exercise or any exam. We explain what it involves and ask first.
You can have someone with you
A partner, a friend or your baby can come to the room, or join the video call.
You can stop at any time
Tell us, and we stop. You do not have to explain.
Getting ready
What to wear and bring
Clothes you can move in
Leggings or loose shorts and a top you can breathe in. You stay dressed for the first visit.
Notes from your provider
Anything your doctor or midwife has told you, and any reports you have, if you would like us to know.
Your questions
Write them down, or bring them as they come. We start with them.
A mat, a towel and a pillow
On video, a spot with room to lie down and a device with a camera.
