Video first

Video visits with a physical therapist

Most of what we do is talking, watching and teaching, and that can happen on a screen. Our therapists are licensed in Idaho, and we see people who are in Idaho at the time of the visit.

What you need

  • A private spot with room to move

  • A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and sound

  • A mat or a towel, and a pillow

  • Clothes you can move in

How it works

Step by step

  1. Step 1: You get a private link

We send it before your visit, with a short note on setting up your space.

  2. Step 2: We start with your questions

What is on your mind, and what you would like to be able to do.

  3. Step 3: We watch and teach

You show us how you move and breathe. We teach exercises and positions, and you try them while we watch.

  4. Step 4: We plan what comes next

What to practice, when to check in, and whether an in-person visit would help.

Not on a screen

When we ask you to come in

  • An internal exam

We do not do one on video. If your therapist thinks it would help, we offer it in our room, and only if you want it.

  • Hands-on care

Some care needs a therapist's hands. We tell you when that is the case, and you choose.

  • Urgent problems

Video is not emergency care. For anything urgent, call us, and in an emergency call 911.

  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.

Questions about video visits

Is my visit private?

We send you a private link, and your therapist joins from a closed room. Join from a place where you will not be overheard, and use headphones if you like.

Do you see people outside Idaho?

No. Our therapists are licensed in Idaho, so we see people who are in Idaho at the time of the visit.

What if the connection drops?

We call you on the phone number you gave us and carry on by phone.

Do I need a referral?

In Idaho, you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one.
